Sourav, born in 1982, is an artist from West Bengal with an extensive background in formal education and training in the arts. His educational qualifications include: Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Shri Krishna University, Madhya Pradesh – 2022 Diploma in Painting from Swar Sangam, Birla Academy of Art and Culture – 2010 Diploma in Classical Animation from Toonz Webel Academy – 2005 Diploma in Graphic Design from Arena Multimedia – 2006 Diploma in Fine Arts from Sarba Bharatiya Sangeet-O-Sanskriti Parishad – 2000 Since 2010, he has been part of innumerable group shows held across Kolkata, Assam, Jaipur, Mumbai, Punjab, Jalpaiguri, Nepal, Pune, Karnataka, Chennai, Santiniketan, and Bangladesh. His solo shows include: 2013, 2014, 2015 – Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata and Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi From 2013 to 2025, he participated in several major exhibitions at prestigious venues such as Charukala, Arts Acre, Charubashona, Lalit Kala Akademi, NGMA, and ICCR. Between 2014 and 2025, he attended numerous workshops organized by Lalit Kala Akademi, NGMA, ICCR, Charubashona, KCC, and ITC in West Bengal, Noida, and New Delhi, and participated in art fairs in Kolkata. Sourav has received several awards and achievements, including: 2020 – Best Entries Award in the International Art Exhibition by Indian Royal Academy of Art and Culture, Karnataka 2020 – Bhaswati Bose Award by Moner Milon, in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Kolkata 2017 – Best Promising Artist Award by Montmartre at the International Kolkata Book Fair, Kolkata 2015 – Certificate of Excellence from Miniature 101 at ICCR, Kolkata His works are part of private collections both nationally and internationally.
