Ashis Mondal did his BVA in 2001 from the Indian College of Art and Draftsmanship (Rabindra Bharati University), Kolkata. The artist had two solos in 2009 Triveni Kala Sangam. New Delhi, and Shree Art Gallery Kolkata. Since 2009 till date the artist has done innumerable group shows, nationally like in Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and New Delhi and internationally in Dhaka, Singapore, Holland and England. Some of them are: 2016 Group show at Lalit kala Akademi. New Delhi, 2015 Contemporary Bengal Artist present a group show at Birla Academy. Kolkata 2014 The Reflection of Bengal a group show at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath. Bangalore. 2019 NIRVANA present an exhibition at Visual Art Gallery, Habitat Centre. New Delhi 2019 Group show at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, in 2009 Barland Art Gallery presented a group show in London, in 2009 BEL-ETAGE & NIRVANA gallery presents an exhibition in Amsterdam, Holland.
His use of colours in a befitting way to render a sensuous, and sensitive feel to his characters, be it human, animals to deities. The artist deals with the mundane and the spiritual with a dreamlike quality presenting them to us.
