Kandi Narsimulu

“I have kept a very grounded approach to my art, using the folk and rural themes with a contemporary touch, drawing attention to the delicate expressions, clothing, jewelry, and lifestyle of my subjects. My paintings were influenced by the minimalist lines and spare style, typical of animation too. The geometric style which often appears in my work is a reflection of that part of my career, during my initial days.”

Born in Kaslabad, Siddipet,Telangana, India the artist did his MFA (Painting)2011 from JNA&FAU, Hyderabad, India and BFA (Painting)1998 from JNA&FAU, Hyderabad, India.
Over the years Narasimulu has participated in over 60 group shows all across India in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Pune, Lucknow, Chennai Jaipur, Kolkata and Singapore. In Hyderabad and Bengaluru he has had around 5 solo shows.
Recipient of many honours and awards he was awarded the Gold Medal All India painting Exhibition, Hyderabad Art Society, India in 2011.

He has also participated in “KALA KUMBH”Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, NGMA, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India 2021; Affordable Art with a heart-Season 2 Gati Kwe Hyd,India 2018; Sasaran International Art festival Malaysia 2017; Telangana Kalamela Hyderabad, India 2016: Art India festival Mumbai, India 2016; Art India festival Mumbai, India 2017.

A group of women or men engrossed in their daily activities, their clothes, its colours, facial expressions of the characters exemplify the love for the rustic life that the artist brings to life in a very stylized and colourful manner.
