Nilesh Pawar

Nilesh Pawar did National Level Government Diploma in Drawing & Painting (G. D. Art) from L. S. Raheja school of Arts, Bandra (Mumbai) 1995, and Diploma in Art Education (Dip. A. Ed) from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune in 1996, followed by Art Teacher’s Diploma (A.T.D.) from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya Pune in 1999. Since then he has worked for several years as Principal in Chitrakala Maha Vidyalay Pune and 2 years as assistant lecturer in Art College Pune. From 1998 till date he did around 18 solo shows in Mumbai and Pune, displaying his works in Jehangir Art Gallery, World Trade Centre, Reliance Mall amongst others. Similarly he has participated in innumerable group shows and selected artists show. He was part of several workshops and art camps and supported social causes by participating in several social painting campaigns like” save hills” , donation and demonstration causes over the years. Since 1993 till 2021 he was the recipient of innumerable state level awards including several cash awards. Explorations into both subject and medium seem to be an ongoing process in the artist’s journey. From conventional, yet alluringly sensitive still life’ s to stylised figure Nilesh explores the relationship with man and also between the elements themselves. His choice of bold colours and large forms and experimentation with different medium, power packs his narrations to stand out.
