Born in 1979 in Malda, Pradiptaa Chakraborty completed0( BFA) in Graphics from Kala
Bhavana,VishvaBharatiUniversityShantiniketan,West Bengal (from 1998 to 2003); and five
years Diploma in Painting From Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, West Bengal. He has
been a National scholarship holder as well as a Merit Scholarship holder from Kala Bhavana,
Vishva Bharati University, Shantiniketan for many years of study. . Since 2020 he has
participated in several solo and group shows in India and abroad.
Pradiptaa works mostly with acrylic and his canvas tells us of the combination of reality and
fiction as his subject. The stories painted revolve around humanism and divinity. He has been
influenced both by the miniature paintings and western impressionism. He colours his imagery
in colours bright and bold and his attention to detail engages and mesmerises the viewer. This
very talented and contemporary artist lives and works in Haryana.
