“Childhood is like a treasure for me. I like to drench my paintings with the things I
saw and observed in the childhood. I like to depict the childhood emotions,
imaginations, moments creatively like playing in rainy weather, imagining oneself
over the clouds, flying with kites and many beautiful things. I am influenced by
objects of childhood like kites, birds, balloons, toys, trays, hats.”
Born in 1992, Shiv Kumar Soni is a young artist from Rajasthan, India. He moved to
Jaipur to pursue the career of his dreams and graduated in Bachelor in Visual Art,
from Rajasthan School of Art, Jaipur.
Over the years he has participated in nearly thirty solo and group shows all the
country and in American Club in Singapore in 20221. This apart he has participated
in several other, exhibition, competition, contest and participated in the 4 th Art
Summit in Jaipur in 2016.
An emerging young and contemporary artist, Shiv uses his watercolour and acrylic
colours and his special technique in highlighting the stories of childhood which he
creates to evoke the childhood memory in each of those who looks at his paintings.
