The artist completed Advance Diploma in Fine Arts (Painting) from Kala-Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, 1999 with a 1st Class in and Diploma in Fine Arts (Painting) from Kala-Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, 1997 with a 1st Class.
The artist has participated in several group shows in India and abroad in Munich, Berlin, South Korea and Bangladesh. Some of his noteworthy solos: at Harrington Street Art Centre and the Seagull Foundation for the Art, Calcutta 2019; again in 2019 he had another solo at Bihar Museum, Patna, Artshila, and The Seagull Foundation for the Art, Calcutta; followed by solo shows in Bangladesh, New Delhi, Vadodara, Kolkata and Santiniketan.
The artist has been the recipient of several National and International Grants.
The artist uses mix media on canvas on paper, enamel, in his reverse paintings as part of his fragmented narratives of pain, disillusionment, twisted mental state of human lives disrupted. Artist says: “I build the composition in a manner that evokes drama alongside a lose constellation of bits and pieces that reveal themselves in the form of decorative subject.”
Currently he is an assistant professor, Kala Bhavana, Painting, Visva-Bharati. Santiniketan.
