SUBRATA DAS

Born and brought up in Kolkata the artist did his foundation course from “College of Visual Arts” under the eminent artists Suvaprasanna. Subrata has received gold and silver awards from Avantika International Art exhibition and certificate of merit from All India Youth Art exhibition.

Subrata’s works are traditional and ethnic with a touch of the modern. His medium is acrylic on canvas and mixed media with semi-realistic and expressive. His subjects are ethnic and rendering in modern aesthetics gives the right combination of tradition presented in contemporary freedom. His paintings display a poetic imagination while depicting character from the Indian spiritual historic and epic. Most of his paintings speak volumes about the divine gestures and traditions, especially of lord Krishna.

Subrata’s visual composition-“tune of love” relates to the divinity in man whose union reveals to the human soul, his cosmic spirit to absolute transcendences.

He has held over eleven solo shows in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Pune and Kolkata, Dubai, Singapore, London and several prestigious group shows in India and abroad and has participated in several annual shows in the country.
His paintings are in collection of UNESCO, TATA Steel, ITC Group, Raj Bhavan, Bangladesh High Commission, RPG Enterprises, Taj Group of Hotels and various corporate houses and private collection in India and abroad.
