Born and brought up in Kolkata the artist did his foundation course from “College of Visual Arts” under the eminent artists Suvaprasanna. Subrata has received gold and silver awards from Avantika International Art exhibition and certificate of merit from All India Youth Art exhibition. . He has held several solo shows and several prestigious groups’ shows in India and abroad and has participated in several annual shows in the country. His paintings are in collection of several prestigious corporate houses and institutions and private collection in India and abroad.
His current series focuses on the divine love of Radha Krishna. The canvases have a lot of flora and fauna elements, flute being a constant motif in his paintings giving a surreal mood. Subbrata’s works are traditional and ethnic with a touch of the modern. His medium is acrylic on canvas and mixed media with semi-realistic and expressive.
