Swapan Kumar Saha

Artist Swapan Kr Saha, born in 1963, in Nadia completed his Master of Visual Arts (M.V.A.) in Painting & B. Ed. from Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata.

He participated in all major all India exhibitions in Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati ,and internationally in Nepal, Bangladesh, Germany, and Canada.

Swapan Kumar Saha did 4 solo exhibitions all over country and participated in more than 150 group exhibition.

He was the recipient of Research Grand Award by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi in 1993-94, and First All India Exhibition by Art Association Guild, A.P. Hyderabad in 1998.

Essentially figurative his paintings are portraits of people, deities which are all beautifully submerged in their background, as if coming out of them. Man and nature and its bond is highlighted in the composition and through the subtle shades of ochre, brown, yellow, green and blue. The Soft brush strokes create a sensitive and an almost lyrical form that looks too delicate to touch.

His paintings are in collection with National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi, Birla Academy of Art & Culture in Kolkata & Mumbai, Sarala Art Gallery in Chennai, The Gallery in Chennai, Art Quest in Mumbai, Vision Art Gallery and Taj Place in New Delhi, Siddharta Art Gallery in Nepal, Arte Antics in Canada, Coal India (Goverment of India).
