Jirawat Pramphet graduated from the Faculty of Decorative Arts at Shilpakorn University. Born in 1970, Jirawat’s works carry the undertone of a serious mind, depicted through funky, colourful images of animals. These furry, cuddly creatures serve as a reflection of a generation and its preferences, blending visual appeal with deeper commentary. “We see the world through the eyes of an artist.” The narratives in Jirawat’s work offer exactly that—a vivid view of the streets of Bangkok in their entirety. His art captures the colours, fashion, and people of the city, allowing them to stare back at us through their unique expressions of beauty, emotion, and aesthetics. The use of bright colours adds an unmistakable element of jazz and funk, perfectly echoing the pop, rock, and contemporary culture of Bangkok’s urban life.
