Beyond urban realism lies the realm of peace and tranquillity; of nature and nurture, of the flora and fauna. There lies just outside the wonder of childhood, of playfulness of the spirit, of the magical realm of fantasy and believe intertwined harmoniously. Moving ahead with time, age and experience, leaving a trail of memories to reminisce and build upon. Basing on that as foundation to move ahead creating and co-creating from the old to the new building a thing, a society, and a newer world. Yet like the saying goes, “all that glitters is not gold”, the transformed look of our old and existing thoughts into something that has its own identity emerged with its share of darkness. The love of man in embracing technology closer than desirable has ended up in creating a Frankenstein of urbanism with its unique code of survival strategies. Man the silent arbitrator finally fell prey to the rigours and splendours of the new age urbanism and is caught up in his daily struggles of consumerism, competition and power struggle. The once benign happy world of men and women in pristine nature and happy and shared intimacy with fellow beings, and slow paced, fulfilling life is now a thing of the past and people are caught in the web of this new age: desperate and choking looking for an avenue to find the peace and the solace once again. The artists have each highlighted this saga of the collective struggle in the individual quest for self realization and ultimate survival, where nature and spirituality plays an integral part.
