Born in Kolkata, the artist has done his BVA from Indian College of Arts and Draftsman ship in 2000.
Ever since 2008 he had several solo shows in the city and recently in City Taj in 2023. Along with this
over the years Joydeb Bala has participated in innumerable group shows all Kolkata, in Lalit Kala
Academy, Delhi, Karnataka, Hyderabad, Bangalore and also in Russian Centre for Science and
Culture, and Alliance Francaise in Bangladesh amongst many others. He has also participated in many
workshops and his works are in collection in several parts of India and USA, Dubai, Israel, Singapore
and others.
Essentially Indian these figurative works of the artist tell of his love for the society, in saving the green
with a motto to express his surrounding thoughts through the lines, texture and nuances of his
characters. He often uses flowers and birds as decoration in his paintings.
