Monalisa Sarkar Mitra, was born in West Bengal and raised in Jharkhand, India.
The artistic influence of this self taught artist has come from verdant surroundings and serene beauty of
nature. In my maximum paintings intimacy of human beings, creatures and nature have been reflected.
Apart from acrylic colour she uses charcoal too. Beside paintings she loves drawing by pencil, charcoal
and pen ink.
Starting with a local art show in Hirapur, Dhanbad in 2000 her artistic journey has been an impressive
array of exhibitions spread over two decades and her work showcased in numerous esteemed galleries
and exhibitions such as Lalit Kala Academy, Delhi; Green Gallery, Jaipur; Iconart Gallery, Hyderabad ;
