Very talented artist, sculptor Debapriyo Nandan Purkayastha was born in
Assam in 1989. He graduated from the National Institute Of Fashion and
Technology in Delhi. He has participated in several solo and group shows in
different parts of India and his works have been showcased in many galleries
over the years.
He is inspired by the Indian mythologies on one hand and interestingly
Western Cowboy classics on the other. The often fantasy characters thus
created as a result are painted and drawn in monochrome with detailed pen
and ink imagery creating a unique tapestry of characters and detailed images
telling their stories in the most interesting way.
