Sabia Khan

Born in 1969 in New Delhi, Sabia Khan did her B.F.A Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, in 1991 and M.F.A Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi in 1993. She has exhibited her works in Oman, UAE, Korea, Pakistan beside India. Her solo exhibitions among many others include the Andaze Bayan Aur; a series of works on Mirza Ghalib at the Visual Arts Gallery, New Delhi. Sabia is a recipient of the National Academy Award Lalit Kala Akademy (2001) and the Yuva Mahotsava Award (1996). She has been also a recipient of National Cultural Scholarship (1993-1995), Junior Fellowship (1995- 1997), and the Senior Fellowship by Kanoria Centre of Art (1999). Her work has been used on the cover of several publications including the Science Book Cover (1993- 1998), Sahitya Varshiki, a Hindi literary publication by India Today (1999) and India Today Hindi Magazine (1995). She has been featured in three documentary films on her by Delhi Doordarshan. Sabia’s work has been on view in numerous prestigious institutions and exhibition in India and Abroad and there is a separate wing Sabia Mahal at Tijara Hotel Rajasthan.
