Born in 1973 in Bangladesh, this self-taught artist paints from his heart with lines and colours that are bold and very vibrant. Believing humans to be the best creator of God: a mix of moods and vibrancy, artist Shekar Roy tries to capture this in colour.
He has innumerable solo shows to his credit some as mentioned here: SAPTAK” at Open Palm Court, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi 2021, Art fiesta Jaipur 2017 India at Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai 2018, Art Revolution Taipei 2015, Taiwan sponsored by Art Revolution Taipei, Sponsored by Lions Club at Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, 2000, Gallery Space Hyderabad, 2007. The artist has also participated in many group shows through the years 1997 to 2016 in Delhi, Kolkata and Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai. The artist has also participated extensively in various other exhibitions in India and abroad.
He has received few awards like Honorable mention award from Galleria Art Exhibition2000 at Vishakapattanam , Honorable mention award (Kalashree) from Lalit Kala Academy Annual Exhibition 2000 at Vishakapattanam and award from Taiwan International contemporary Art Association 2014.
